The Captiva Historical Society presents author and popular film consultant, Robert N. Macomber, whose topic will be “Sanibel & Captiva Islands in the U.S. Civil War” ~ find out some fascinating SW Florida history, including Civil War action along the beaches now famous for sunsets and seashells. From the beginning of the war to the very end, these islands saw naval actions, heard its gunfire, and were associated with a clandestine escape operation.
